“I have been powerlifting for approximately 10 years, but really took the sport up seriously in 2016 with the intention of competing.
Powerlifting is a strenuous sport, requiring immense dedication to training and is one of the toughest sports around.
The intense training leaves one stiff, sore and extremely tired, making rest periods between sessions extremely important.
During these rest periods the body recuperates from previous sessions but as these sessions become heavier and more intense as a result of strength gains, rest alone is not sufficient for full recuperation.
